Training Services
rcm2 limited provides regular hands-on one-day training courses in the following
areas:
- Course 501 - SYSTEM
SAFETY using GOAL STRUCTURING NOTATION (GSN)
GSN is a graphical notation for complex system safety case argumentation.
This one-day course introduces the GSN method with two case studies
and one group exercise. The attendees are introduced to ISCaDE GSN version
1.1 and have an opportunity to use this tool to develop a GSN diagram
for their example exercise.
- Course 502 - HAZARD
MANAGEMENT and SAFETY REQUIREMENTS COMPLIANCE
Participants in this course will get introduced to concepts of Hazard
Identification (HAZID) and Hazard & Operability (HAZOP) Studies
through an example case study and hands-on ISCaDE functionality. The
course covers the relationship between hazards and safety requirements,
including mitigation measures and risk classification matrices. Other
concepts such as the ALARP principle, risk reduction and safety standards
compliance (e.g. Defence Standard 00-56, Rail Standard EN50126) will
be explained.
- Course 503 - SYSTEM
RELIABILITY ENGINEERING (Next Course - 28 Feb. 2005)
Contents include: Reliability and Probability Theory, Reliability Predictions,
Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD), Failure Modes and Effects Criticality
Analysis (FMECA), Reliability Data; Examples and hands-on exercises
using ITEM Toolkit.
- Course 504 - SYSTEM
SAFETY ENGINEERING (Next Course - 1 March 2005)
Safety Terminology, Hazard and Risk Analysis, Hazard identification
(HazID) and Hazard & Operability (HAZOP) Studies, Risk Management,
Risk Mitigation, Hazard Log (Database), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and
Minimum Cutsets, Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD), Common cause and
Common Mode Failures, Redundancy and Protection Systems; Examples and
hands-on exercises using ITEM
Toolkit.
- Course 505 - RISK
ASSESSMENT using Markov Analysis
This one-day course introduces the concept of Markov Analysis for risk
assessment of repairable systems with the example of a case study and
a group exercise. It is a hands-on course where the participants will
learn to use Item Toolkit's
Markov Analysis module for their example exercise.
